Muhammad Ali and Pot Roast Sandwiches

I'm eating a Pot Roast Sandwich from Bay Cities Deli and watching the Patterson/Ali fight from 1965.

I've watched a lot of Ali this week. They've been showing a lot of his stuff on ESPN classic because it's his birthday. I usually write off anyone who uses the word 'athlete' and 'important' in the same sentence, but I absolutely have an Ali Exception.

The man single handedly invented trash talk, hip hop, rope a dope, non-dirty-hippie-conscientious-objecting, and a bunch of other stuff that I enjoy watching. Without him, there might be no mixed martial arts, no Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, and no professional wrasslin as we know it today. Oh, and he had no problem going to prison in the prime of his career for what he believed in.

Happy belated birthday to Berrien Springs' most famous resident.

A guy I know through work is in contention for coolest job ever. He works for Ali and essentially serves as a constantly available uncle-type for Ali's son. He helps him with homework, plays hoop with him, etc. Tough gig.
