Superman Returns was. . .

A superhero flick with more chick flick elements than a Meg Ryan movie . . . and I think it works if that's what you know you're getting going in. . . .

Bryan Singer is a very good director and storyteller. So, if you're like me, and you MANAGE YOUR EXPECTATIONS, you can enjoy it for the expensive cram-in-the-drama summer movie it is.

Note: I think you will enjoy this movie more if you can enjoy it SPOILER FREE, which is why I'm not telling you as little as possible about it here. Pretend you're back in 1980 and the Internet doesn't exist for this one.

In related news, Sony (coincidentally?) has decided to post their SPIDERMAN 3 PREVIEW ON QUICKTIME.COM . And holy crap. . . now THAT looks like a Superher0 ACTION movie. . . .
